Village Tavern is hiring BOH managers for our location by Hanes Mall in Winston-Salem, NC.

Village Tavern has been a local tradition since 1984. We are seeking an exceptional restaurant manager to join our BOH management team at our location by Hanes Mall.

We’re seeking individuals with management experience and a keen eye for detail.

BOH Management Role

As a member of our management team, you play a pivotal role in leading team morale and driving our standards each shift. BOH Managers are responsible for helping manage the operations for the back of the house and kitchen area of a restaurant.

Manager responsibilities include maintaining food costs, limiting waste, and managing BOH Labor, doing their best to optimize profit for the company and create the best dining experience possible for customers.

BOH Manager responsibilities include:

  • Manage kitchen staff
  • Maintain a clean work environment
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Coordinate food orders within budget and par levels
  • Supervise food prep and cooking
  • Ensure proper plating of all dishes
  • Ensure food is prepared for service in a timely manner
  • Maintain Proper temperature logs
  • Line checks
  • Ensure Village Tavern standards are met
  • Recipe Adherence
  • Adhere to safety guidelines
  • Train kitchen staff on prep work and food plating techniques
  • Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area
  • Work with KM and GM to maximize profitability
  • Answer, report and follow Corporate Executive Chef instructions

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager or Kitchen Manager
  • Hands-on experience working in a restaurant kitchen
  • Knowledge of a wide range of recipes
  • Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Conflict management abilities
  • Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment
  • Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with the industry’s best practices

Preferred, but not required.
